Jadwiga (Polish pronunciation: [jadˈviɡa] ; diminutives: Jadzia [ˈjad͡ʑa], Iga) is a Polish feminine given name. It originated from the old Germanic feminine given name Hedwig (variants of which include Hedwiga), which is compounded from hadu ('battle') and wig ('fight').
