Diary of a Mad Old Man

Diary of a Mad Old Man (Japanese: 瘋癲老人日記, Hepburn: Fūten rōjin nikki) is an upcoming drama film directed by Wayne Wang. Written by Kelvin Wyles, it is based on 1961 book of the same name by the Japanese writer Jun'ichirō Tanizaki. Starring Lily Franky, and Fan Bingbing, it follows an aging widower having an intimate relationship with his caregiver daughter-in-law. The film will have its world premiere in Gala Presentations at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival on September 18, 2026.
