Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass

"Gail" (Zoey Deutch) is about to be married to sweetheart "Tom" (Michael Cassidy) when Jennifer Aniston comes to town to sign her book. He has always had a crush on her and declares that should he be ever given a celebrity pass to have sex with anyone else - it would be her. Of course it's all hypothetical - or is it? Well revenge will be all the sweeter for her when she and best pal "Otto" (Miles Gutierrez-Riley) head to Los Angeles for a hairdressing convention and from where she hopes to spring her very own honey trap on John Hamm. People know surprisingly little about his location, but they hope a trip to Creative Artists might help. Sadly, all that gets them is new friend "Caleb" (Ben Wang) and the start of a trail that might but probably won't lead to her leading man. What our dynamic trio don't realise is that being distracted at the airport by Henry Winkler they managed to swap her suitcase full of curling tongs for one containing some top secret dossiers - and the menacing "Ludovica" (Sabrina Impacciatore) puts her henchman "Sergio" (Joe Lo Truglio) on the job. They are looking for their star, he is looking for their case - and with a bit of intervention from "Weird" Al Jankovic and from John Slattery, their adventures take advantage of a burger restaurant, a coffee shop, a skip behind a foot locker and lots of old abandoned film sets. No, this isn't Pulitzer stuff, but there are cameos galore throughout this quickly paced and light-hearted satire on many things Hollywood and it also shows up the ridiculousness of so many convenient stereotypes as it sends up sex, desire and machismo, too. It isn't a film you will ever remember, but it's still an enjoyable enough way to spend ninety minutes with a cast who look like they are having fun.
